Time for Salty Spring Air

Sunday. I awoke and looked at the calendar. By the grace of God I managed to get out of April alive. April, May and June, for Fibro warriors living in climates where the seasons change are a bit of a challenge. Especially since the weather is as unpredictable as Jordan Belfort from ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street.’

The spring weather for most is a welcome reprieve from the cold and signals a time to go out, get gardening and get ready for the summer. For people with Fibro, it’s like the red, light, green light scene from Squid Games.

You feel good, go…no wait the weather flared stop….you made plans to go do something with friends….shot down…and back to bed….

So on Sunday, when I awoke functionally, dysfunctional, the family and I headed to the shore.

Yes, the shore, because we live in New Jersey and don’t have beaches. The shore is probably the most New Jersey thing evea’ except for the Sopranos.

But I digress.

We got down the Sandy Hook, and walked to the observatory. Looking out onto the sea and then over to New York City, which looked so tiny, I was reminded that the world can be special and that sometimes we just need to stop looking at our phones, get off our computers and go outside.

Even if we’re flared.
